“Do Not Call” My Cell Phone
I don’t know about you but on Monday the 22nd of Feb. my cell phones lit up like Christmas trees. Telemarketers were calling from all over the place; and they still are. There is something you can do about it though. I received an email a few weeks earlier, which I ignored, that warned me that my cell phone number would become public in just a few days. The email also gave me a number that I could call in order to have my cell phone numbers blocked and added to the “do not call list.” The process takes just a few minutes however, it takes about 30 days for your number to be pull off the public list. I should have paid more attention to the email.
Here is a copy of the email for your benefit. If you have been bombarded in the last week with calls from telemarketers on your cell phone there is something you can do about it.
CELL PHONE NUMBERS GO PUBLIC THIS WEEK
REMEMBER: Cell Phone Numbers Go Public this month.
REMINDER….. all cell phone numbers are being released to
telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sales calls.….. YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS
To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone:
888-382-1222.
It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your
time.. It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the
cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a
different phone number.HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON .. It takes about 2 minutes.
Every time you answer a call from a telemarketer remember, you are paying by the minute for the call. Your cell phone number, if you are like me, is a private number. That, for me, is part of the reason I have a cell phone. If I wanted to be harassed by telemarketers I would have a house phone. And even still you can have your home phone number added to the “Do Not Call List.” Because we pay for cell phones literally by the minute I think it is absolutely appalling that the numbers would be made public.
Anyway, I hope this help you out. Just follow the instructions in the email above.

Actually, it took about a week from the time I called. The calls have stopped.
